How to make a photo book on your phone
Your photos are on your phone already. You can make the whole book there.
There's no app to download and no account to make. You make the book in your phone's web browser, from the photos in your camera roll.
Step by step
- Go to rgbloom.com and tap Make a book. Or start from one of the templates if there's one that fits.
- Add your photos. Pick them from your photo library. iPhone photos (HEIC) work as they are, and so do JPEGs and the rest. Somewhere between 40 and 80 is a good amount - how many photos you need explains why.
- Let us design the pages. We lay the photos out across the book in date order, keeping each day together where we can. That takes a moment, not an afternoon.
- Change what you'd like. Swap photos between pages, switch a page to a different layout, choose the photos for the cover and give the book a title.
- Order. Pay by card, give the delivery address, and that's it. It's £10, including UK delivery.
Getting to a designed book takes about five minutes. Your photos stay on your phone while you design; they're sent to us only when you order.
What you can't do on a phone (yet)
Moving or resizing a photo by hand within a page needs a computer. If you want that kind of control, choose Continue on a computer when you get to the order step, and carry on there.
Or use your phone with a computer
If you'd rather design on a bigger screen but your photos are on your phone, open the editor on your computer and scan the QR code with your phone. The two connect, and you can send photos straight across. Where the network allows, they go directly from one device to the other, without passing through us.
Keep a copy
Your book is saved in your phone's browser, so you can come back to it later. If you clear your browser data, it goes with it. To keep a copy somewhere safe, send it to a computer with Continue on a computer, and choose Download book from the editor menu there.
Tips for phone photos
- Use the photos, not screenshots. Screenshots and photos saved from messaging apps are smaller and print less sharply.
- Check your iCloud or Google Photos settings. If your phone keeps only small versions on the device, the full-size photo may need a moment to download when you pick it.
