Adding photos from Google Photos on Android
This is for the RGBloom app on an Android phone.
Use the photo picker
- In RGBloom, tap Choose photos myself. Android's photo picker opens. If your book already has photos, tap Add more photos on "Your photos", then From Google Photos (or Choose photos myself: it's the same picker).
- Choose your photos. Alongside the photos on your phone, the picker shows the ones in your Google Photos account, and your Google Photos albums are under Albums (called Collections on some phones).
- Tap Done. Photos that are only in Google Photos are downloaded first, so a big pick can take a little while.
The picker lets you choose about 100 photos at a time. For more, tap Add more photos on "Your photos" and pick again.
If your Google Photos don't appear in the picker, check that Google Photos is signed in and backing up on this phone, and that the phone has its latest system updates. It needs Android 12 or later.
Why Find my photos for me can miss some
Find my photos for me looks only at the photos stored on the phone itself. If you've used Free up space in Google Photos, it removed the copies on your phone of photos it had already backed up, so those won't show there. They're still in Google Photos, and the photo picker can reach them.
Or share them from Google Photos
You can also go the other way: select photos in Google Photos, tap Share and choose RGBloom. The app then offers them to you for a new book or one you've already made.
